Abstract

This presentation will feature research–informed approaches for working through issues and barriers to establish and improve culturally responsive collaborative parent–professional partnerships. Suggestions will include strategies to evaluate the family’s educational needs from a culturally responsive perspective, address personal assumptions and judgments of both partners, and offer successful training models and characteristics that foster trusting, respectful, reciprocal parent–professional partnerships.
