Connecting Through Literature - On Original Poetry and The Sigma Tau Delta International Convention
Abstract
This will be a discussion of my experience presenting original poetry at the 2018 Sigma Tau Delta International Convention, which I was able to attend as an undergraduate student with assistance from Lesley University. I will be discussing my experience attending the Convention, how I was able to feel connected to others through similarities in our writing, and how a mutual interest in literature and the English language created a sense of community at the Convention. Additionally, I will be reading and discussing the original poem I presented at the Convention.
