  Experiential Learning and General Education: A Critical Source of Liberal Learning

  Robert Wauhkonen's presentation addresses the research question: To what learning experiences do students attribute attainment of common general education learning goals? He discusses the importance of experiential learning in reported attainment of common learning goals. Key Research Finding: Unlike any other reported learning experience, experiential learning brought together classroom and “real-world” learning to promote meaningful, rich liberal learning as defined by common general education learning goals.

  Collaborative Partnerships—Improving Teacher Retention

  Karen Zimbrich presents on the collaborative internship program at Lesley. This is an intensive 14-month program provided in collaboration with independent & public schools that leads to a Master's degree in education, an initial teaching license and a full academic year of hands-on experience in two classrooms. Zimbrich discusses program features and outcomes.
